I finally got a chance to sit down and watch this documentary from PBS about the state of the American retirement picture. It stresses low cost investing, the importance of starting investing early, diversification and some great interviews with big wigs in the industry .
This originally aired almost 2 months ago, but if you were like me and hadn’t seen it yet, find an hour to be able to sit down and watch this documentary.
Around 20 minutes into it, the discussion of fees come up, around 25 minutes Jack Bogle comes in.
I love hearing the exec from JP Morgan try to talk himself out of a hole, trying to convince Americans that they are not being screwed by the expensive asset managers and fund managers.
The documentary in its entirety can be watched here: http://video.pbs.org/video/2365000843
Embedded below is the first 10 minutes or so. If you watch it below, after the 10 minutes is up you will be given a link to watch the rest of it on PBS’s website.
